Colours and flavourings may make vaping products more attractive to young people.

New vaping regulations require disposable vapes and e-liquids to adhere to an approved list of flavour names, using only 1 or 2 words.

At present, vaping products in New Zealand come in a range of flavour descriptions – like “jelly donut” or “cotton candy”. Under the new regulations, flavours will be limited to a range of descriptions over a few categories – see them below!

From 21st October 2023, importers and manufacturers may only bring in products that meet these flavour descriptions.

From 21st March 2024,  manufacturers, importers, distributors, and retailers can only sell items that meet these descriptions.
