About Don’t Get Sucked In
What is the Don’t Get Sucked In campaign?
It is clear that vaping is not harmless. As vaping is relatively new, it is going to take time to fully understand the risks – just like it did with tobacco.
It is clear that the use of vaping products is rapidly increasing all over the world, including in young adults.
Adding to this is a sizeable campaign from pro-vaping advocates, many with industry or business connections, trying to minimise the public perception of these possible health impacts.
Don’t Get Sucked In is a campaign encouraging teens not to pick up vaping (or smoking) in the first place, by challenging them to do the research and think critically about vaping. It sits within the wider body of work conducted by Asthma and Respiratory Foundation NZ to reduce the appeal of vaping and promote healthy lungs.
